An Unexpected 24-hour Journey Turns into a Practice of the Niyamas

What an unexpected 24-hour journey it has been! From almost not being allowed in the country, delayed flights, missed flights, to a big extended waiting time at Chennai airport.... I made it! I'm currently staying in a lovely hotel by Cochin Airport.

Every twist turned into a lesson in the Niyamas—the yogic principles guiding our actions. #Santosha (Contentment) taught me to embrace the chaos, while #Svadhyaya (Self-Study) allowed reflection on why I said yes to this trip, where I was when I made the decision, and where I am emotionally today. I found #Tapas (Discipline) in navigating the unknown and Ishvara #Pranidhana (Surrender) in letting go of control.

Travel isn’t just about the destination; it’s about the growth along the way. When you travel somewhere whether driving, flying or else, do you pause to realise where you are? What you are doing? Who you are with? Your surroundings? A pause to be in that moment, even in motion, letting gratitude rise, and control reduce.

Looking forward to meeting the group tomorrow, but in the meantime, goodnight
